Outreach Opportunities

 

As you can see, there are a lot of ways in which you may choose to be the hands and feet of Jesus in the world. This is a group effort!  It takes the participation of the entire church community to be effective in our efforts.  If you have would like to:  volunteer, make a suggestion, or get more information on any of the opportunities below please click here or contact the church office at 540-364-2166.

 

Current Weekly activities:

Claude Thompson Homework Club – Wednesday afternoons from 3:45-4:45PM, assist elementary school students who need help with their homework.

Current Monthly activities:

Crochet Club - Learn how to make items for cancer patients and nursing home occupants. 

Current Bi-Monthly activities:
Homeless Mission – We go to DC and take meals and clothes to the homeless.  We work with other churches in the DC area and rotate Sundays going into DC.

Annual activities:

Easter Egg Hunt

Kits for Conference – Each June we send various types of kits (health supplies, flood clean-up supplies, etc) with our pastor to annual conference, to be distributed to areas in need around the world.

Backpack/School Supplies Collection – Each August we collect backpacks and school supplies for children in need.

Harvest Party – a Fall celebration for children in our community.

Operation:  Christmas Child – Each October/November we collect shoeboxes filled with goodies for Samaritan’s Purse to be sent to children around the world.

Angel Tree – In Advent we help several needy families in our community by purchasing Christmas gifts.

Vacation Bible School – We work with the Education Committee to promote Vacation Bible School in our community. 

Concert for Seven Loaves – A fundraising event.  Usually it is the first Saturday in November.
